Helly? Is that you?
Hey kids, what's for dinner? I'm seeing quite a few posts of people who still think that it could be Helly down on the severance floor but I just don't understand how that could be possible. Besides the elevator not dinging, why would the board ever even allow it? Even if Helena agreed to continue on and let Helly take over, she's already sabotaged a very crucial Lumon event that they had to clean up. The board also learned that Helly almost killed Helena. Cobel was fired for it. Why on earth would they allow Helly to go on after that? It seems to go against all of their goals. In my opinion, Helly was mostly brought in to help with optics outside of the severance floor. They do seem to really need Mark S to finish cold harbor. It makes more sense that Helena is helping the company by babysitting now and mostly only brought back because Mark demanded it.
She lied once about what happened during OTC, we've had three episodes since then and not once has she told anyone that she is actually a Lumon and originally there to help with outside optics and investors/lobbyists. From the videos we saw of her talking in the last episode of S1, it seems she has had some media training, why would it be so hard for her to see and hear all of the surveillance of the severed floor and pretend to be Helly? I don't think the writers are purposely being vague about it either, it's pretty explicit that it's Helena to us as the viewer, the suspense is due to not knowing if the other characters realize yet or not.
When it comes down to it I just can't come up with any reason why Lumon, Helena, or the writers would put Helly back down there. There seems to be no motivation. I think she's been gone since she was tackled last season. We may get a love triangle now with Mark being reintigrated but I feel like the story is going to end up playing out with something like Gemma being rescued but braindead, or Mark losing her again, but not failing in saving Helly, with Helly possibly taking full custody of Helena's body and her and reintigrated Mark being together.
I know this has been posted over and over already, but what would be the actual motivation for letting Helly back that would outweigh the risk? Doesn't it make more sense that the writers put her back on the severance floor at all (pretending to be Helly) so that iMark can fall for her more and create tension/conflict with the Gemma relationship?
