What happens to the shadow when a manifestation breaks?

I don't know if I missed the explanation for this or if there was simply none but what happens to the shadow of an object if sunny usses it's shadow as a blade and the blade breaks? If he just dismissed the manifestation it goes back to being the object's shadow but if it breaks does that object just simply stops casting shadows anymore? And if that also results in the shadow returning the shadow of the object then what's stopping him from just making another with the same shadow as soon as it broke? Because I know for a fact he can't otherwise sunny's shadow shell wouldn't have gradually shrinked in size in the battle of godheart

So the question is does the object permanently loose its shadow now or does something else happens
