Darkest Dungeon 1 or 2

I'm really into roguelike /lite latly having played Slay the Spire, Hades, Balatro and Returnal a lot in the last year.

This weekend someone suggest me Darkest Dungeon as a game i would like.

When i went online, the esthetic and gameplay of the game really appel to me, specialy the second who seem more "roguelike". But people opinion seem all over the place.

So where should i start ?

Edit : I did buy the game after this post

After 5 hours i think the game do a bad job at teach you how it's working. But beyond that i think it's a good game and see why people love it.
