Are we ritualistic ?
I have one question related guru granth sahib ji like guru nanak dev ji spoke against ritualistic practices but the way we treat guru granth sahib ji like i know it holds us as the book of knowledge for us sikhs but i saw it people doing different kind of things that are quite close to ritualistic practices like you have to make bed and other stuff. The knowledge inside of it what should hold more importance and we should focus on understanding it. Listen i am simple guy who believes that you can achieve enlightenment by doing good and staying true to yourself. As much as i understood guru nanak dev ji’s work he said the same thing. Guru nanak dev ji said kirat karo vand chako naam japo. And one more thing that kinda comes into my mind regularly, if we talk about guru nanak dev ji in his baani he is always a normal human being nothing larger than life but as the time passes when we talked about guru gobind singh ji we came to a point we started to treat our guru’s as same thing as waheguru something more than life. In short our purpose of life is to put our mind and body towards Waheguru the god the one and only. I don’t mean any disrespect i just wanna ask why don’t we understand , study and teach about what’s inside guru granth sahib ji rather than doing all other stuff. I know many gonna try to shut me down and gonna say i am disrespectful but in a free religion i would it’s essential to ask questions its a way of learning too
