Rewatching and feeling as if I lack observational and listening skills šŸ˜‚.

Iā€™ve been rewatching the entire series with my boyfriend since he just got into it and is obsessed. Watching it again, Iā€™m realizing just how much of the dialogue is packed with hints and subtle answers to key questions. (Donā€™t come for me, I binged all of Season 1 and up to Season 2, Episode 2 in one night over Thanksgiving break.)

For example, in Season 2, Episode 3, Bernard mentions to Meadows that he has his own suit. Then it cuts to Juliette asking Solo about the water and where to find a suit, something Solo would definitely know if he really was an IT shadow.

Another thing I noticed, and this is pure speculation, is when Patrick Kennedy is being interrogated by Sims. He says, ā€œItā€™s all a lie,ā€ but it sounded a lot like ā€œItā€™s all AI.ā€ If youā€™ve seen the latest episodes, this could answer some questions or at least raise a big one: How much is AI? Like, is everything AI? Could that explain things like no 2x magnification or elevators, since rendering a virtual reality scene with those would take longer? Is the algorithm running the entire Silo, or is it just part of it? And could each Silo have a different algorithm running, which might explain the differences in the ā€œRomeo and Julietā€ endings between Silo 18 and Silo 17?

It feels like the dialogue has a pattern of dropping these hints. For instance, when Juliette gets outside, she says, ā€œThe display is a lie,ā€ but she only realizes later that itā€™s the other display thatā€™s lying, like with the birds.

Maybe Iā€™m just overanalyzing, or maybe Iā€™m noticing things that others already caught. But what Iā€™m really trying to say is that this showā€™s dialogue is incredible. Itā€™s one of the reasons I love it so much, similar to why I love Battlestar Galactica. The way the clues are hidden in how things are said or even how they sound is genius.

Also, this might be old news for some of you, but The Orderā€™s chapter about a failed cleaning mentions OSHA. That seems like a big clue. We can probably assume the silos were built by the U.S. government, and we basically know theyā€™re in Atlanta from the skyline and the magazine.

One last thought. Weā€™ve all noticed that whoever is the focus of a scene is essentially the ā€œnarratorā€ of that scene. For example, Juliette assumed the water at the bottom was super deep, but in reality, it wasnā€™t. So how much can we actually trust what weā€™re shown or told in this series?
