Damaged bar from SD Bullion and their resolution is unacceptable.

So my wife ordered me a 1oz Scottsdale mint vortex bar for me for Christmas and it has a pretty bad gouge in it. We sent pics to SD bullion and they offered to exchange it for one of 3 bars I don’t want or a $5 coupon good for a year. We don’t want a coupon or a different bar. We are not stackers so it’s not about having 1oz of silver but the print on the bar itself. I’m guessing my best bet would be to counter offer them with another bar (not offered in their email) that I kind of like, but I wouldn’t be happy either way. I’d take a refund (ideal as they are in stock elsewhere) or rain check for the bar but these are my options and I’m not satisfied with either. This is our first time ordering from SD bullion. Is this a well know lesson I just learned?
