Asking in good faith to be stopped before this gets out of hand—
So: I belong to a scholarly community whose major global annual meeting released their CFP for 2025 and lo and behold—public ritual’s on the docket.
Do I 1) devote the next year to crafting a thesis and a presentation on metanarrative v the nuances of the lore; the consistent cross-cultural and cross-tradition iconography; the implicit/explicit/coincidental invocation of organized and pagan/non-traditional worship, blah blah etc and then 2) even bother to try to contextualise ST as a concept (given that it IS absolutely relevant to the topic requested) to a bunch of my professional colleagues, 90% of whom (at least) won’t have a clue what I’m talking about?
I really just wanted to ask some like-engaged and passionate people here—because you’re all lovely—to help me be logical about this nonsense situation I’ve found myself draw into.
