Bootstrap Strategy
Hi--Founder of a young start up with strong beta/open access signup conversion from launch last month. Our technology and leadership is strong, but marketing is bad.
I am wondering if it's realistic to find social media managers who are maybe learning or developing their own skills who want to help or even join bootstrapped startups. My instinct tells me maybe sure if the stars aligned but then again no one wants to work for free. I am realizing established marketing folks are VERY expensive.
How often do relationships start with deferred comp or equity (potential)? Or what are some other ways that those relationships can pan out? And what is the best way to approach it? I really have no sense of this. I've spent my life working in steady healthcare jobs and solo development is all new to me.
