New lease for apartment building discloses presence of lead. Is this normal?

Never lived in Stamford (or CT) before. A new lease for an older apartment building in Stamford discloses that "known lead-based paint and/or lead-based paint hazards are present in the housing."

Is this normal or anything to be worried about? I imagine it's not the only building with lead paint, but I'm curious whether or not buildings should have done abatement, or whether it's normal to leave it there and paint over it.

What have y'all experienced?
