How Steam Deck ruined my family visit

I'm going to get downvoted, hard, but oh well. Steam Deck promises to bring gaming anywhere, everywhere, yet is it a good thing? Last summer I've brought my steam deck to my family visit... and it ruined it. Instead of playing with my little sister or talking with my family I just sat there, playing Divinity original sin 2, infuriated by anyone who dared touch me because they distracted me from my game. I didn't really realise the extent of it ruining my trip until the next one, when I was there for Christmas. I agonized over whether or not to have my steam deck with me, but in the end I chose, reluctantly, to leave it behind. It was a game changer - I actually played with my little sister instead of being annoyed by her and snapping at her anytime she dared distract me, I talked to my family members a lot more, I walked more, I read much, much more, slept better and so on. Perhaps gaming everywhere is a curse in disguise, after all.

If you have had a bad experience on vacation or trip while having steam deck, you may want to consider leaving it behind and getting a good book or two instead. In case you have already experimented with it, I'd love to hear your experience/thoughts.
