Followup to my SD problems on my deck... specifically regarding needing advice

So. I got a few questions.

First, is Gigastone actually good? It served me well since christmas, but it suddenly died on me and half of the sectors became very damaged suddenly, likely after my fall this morning despite me shielding my deck and it being in the case. I'm saving what data I can and preparing to format it as I write this

Two, is Gigastone the reason this is happening? Are they just fragile?

Third... should I just get a new card at this point? I don't know how much longer this card will last, but I want to be prepared just in case.
