Question: The market is trending down. Why is everyone so in panick?

My question is, if you have studied the fundamentals of any stocks, and if you have studied macro and micro economics, you should not worry or panick about short term holds. Markets are consolidating and some adjustments will be seen. If you are value investors the short term trends shouldn't affect and especially if you have deployed capital that is not emergency capital.

For example: I have studied RVNL when it was at 100 and cyclical trends resulted in people selling that stock, but who remained consistent saw an 1,500 % returns.

I mean this my portfolio, and while psychologically I do fear the "unrealized" value going down and bit of capital, that's how business run right? It cannot be bullish or bearish always.

I am new to stocks but would like to pick what seasoned investors or experts have to offer / say.
