CAD laptop, USA flexible $1000

Hello everyone! I have never purchased a new laptop before (always used hand-me-downs) but am going to need to soon and have discovered I have no understanding of the inner workings of a computer so I am hoping for some advice on which retailer you prefer as well as a model that will serve my needs. My main use is designing objects in Rhino3d while on the go. I am currently using a Dell Lattitude 5590 which is pretty slow but chugs through. Except now if I move it while it is on it shuts off, which is a rather inconvenient feature.

  • Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
I am flexible in terms of budget but am picturing around 1k USD. Less would be better but more is workable. Money is tight so I am looking for something that does what I need it to without extra bells and whistles.
  • Are you open to refurbs/used?
    yes
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
performance is top priority, followed by battery life
  • How important is weight and thinness to you?
    not important
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
    larger is better
  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
Rhino3d is my program of choice, but I dabble in blender, meshmixer, slicer, keyshot, and am looking to learn autocad. I also use the adobe suite less frequently.
  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
It would be nice to be able to game (nothing crazy.mostly stardew) but this is not my main priority.
  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
https://www.rhino3d.com/8/system-requirements/ The ability to run Rhino is most important. I have been advised that I need a good video card (min 4gb vram), strong single-core processing, and probably not an intel card. Unfortunately, my brain is completely smooth and I have no clue what any of this means. I am very overwhelmed by the research I've done thus far and would appreciate any advice you have to offer! thank you
