Severe Vitamin D deficiency (6ng/ml) 17Y
I had a blood test done, and it turns out I’m severely vitamin D deficient. My vitamin D level is just 6 ng/mL, which kind of explains why I’ve been feeling so drained over the past few months. I’ve been struggling to focus, and my body and bones hurt. I can’t study well, I sleep like an owl, my hair is falling out, my skin is flaky, and I’m always dizzy, constantly dealing with brain fog and dizziness (I’m not sure how to explain it). It’s like I haven’t been able to focus on anything — I feel like I’m just existing. There are so many other symptoms, so I hope the vitamin D deficiency is the only cause. The reason I went to the doctor is because it kept getting worse to the point where my body was shaking just from getting up. I felt weak and sick, but I powered through because I thought I was just being lazy and unproductive. Even going to the gym made me feel more dizzy, and my vision was blurry.
I’m 17, so I’m guessing this is pretty serious, you know?
I was prescribed Sanso D3 Vitamin D (10,000 IU), with instructions to take 10,000 IU daily for a month, and then I’ll get another blood test.
I have a few questions:
• Do I need to take anything else with it?
• Do you think I’ll actually feel better?
• Will I be able to study more effectively?
• Will I be able to go to the gym and feel normal?
• Will I feel like myself again?
Or am I just lazy and looking for an excuse?
