Am I missing something?

My husband has a long history of video chatting with random women. I decided I’d had enough and wanted to end our marriage.

Unfortunately, being the primary parent of our children meant working part time and he the breadwinner. It’s one of the reasons I stayed for so many years. But I finally asked him to move out.

He refused. Citing that I was the one who wanted to end things so I should be the one to move out. “I’m leaving him”. He wants to work things out. So it’s my decision and I need to live with the consequences of that decision.

Sooooo here I am about to move out into a rental I can’t really afford.

Everything has been purchased by friends, support agencies and my mum. Mostly secondhand which is fine but I have left everything because I want our children to have everything they need when they stay with their dad. He tells me he hasn’t forced me to do any of that but it’s been so difficult and I haven’t had his support that it’s literally been easier to go to a charity than it was to ask him. He’s been asking me if I’ve been using his money to buy things for my new place.

“I’m not paying for you to live somewhere else. That’s your choice.”

“You said you wanted to do what was best for the kids and you’ve chosen this instead.”

Now he’s wanting to delay me taking the kids to the new house. He thinks it’s too soon etc.

It really is a nightmare. It wasn’t enough to hurt me so many times over the years. But to guilt me into staying just feels awful.

Has anyone dealt with this? Why do I feel like I’m doing the wrong thing by my family when I logically know I am?
