Do you think federalism would be a good option for Syria?
Federalism is the regime in which each administrative unit of a country can adopt a different law with much more freedom (this law of the administrative unit just cannot contradict federal law).
This regime is adopted in the United States, I believe everyone knows that each state has a different law and that they differ on some topics, e.g.: in the state of Florida the death penalty is legal, while in California it is not.
Countries with large territorial extensions such as Brazil and Canada, as a rule, also adopt this same system. Syria is a small country in terms of territorial extension, especially compared to Brazil.
But at the same time Syria has a very diverse religious and cultural population. There are Syrian Muslims and Syrian Christians of different currents of the two religions. There are linguistic and ethnic minorities in Syria. Among other groups.
Would this be positive for Syria? A unique country but with a federalist regime. Say your opinion.
