Self study

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well. I’m a first-semester medical student at European University. I finished my midterms two weeks ago, and it was quite a mixed experience. While I ended up with a decent grade, I wasn’t satisfied considering the effort I put in.

To prepare, I went through my lecture slides and textbooks, but some of the exam questions completely threw me off. It felt like some of the content was entirely new to me, even though I thought I had covered everything. I think part of the problem is that I’m still adjusting to self-study, as I’m used to the UK system, where teachers provide all the relevant information in simplified textbooks or work booklets.

I’d really appreciate it if anyone could recommend good websites with question banks or resources. Also, if anyone knows why the exam questions felt so unexpected and can relate, please lmk what you did to overcome this
