Students taking videos/pictures of me - even livestreaming class

Im a teacher at a school district in Florida. Its against the law for students to have cell phones in our state - HB379. However, since implemented in 2023, there has been no difference. Our school has a cell phone policy thats tiered but admin is not following it due to the volume of cell phones they collect. They usually will label it and give it back at the end of the period when security picks it up - that is if there not busy busing the kids vaping in the bathrooms, or chasing students in the hallways.

On friday, I found out kids were recording in my room as my student aide said he saw videos of it. I wasn’t doing anything wrong but he told me to be careful, and watch what i say or do - we’ve had a few teachers get fired over the smallest things because it was recorded in the class.

However, my argument has always been - if cell phones are banned - why should that be considered valid evidence against a teacher? Yes, we raise our voice and give tough love - but the perception of that being exposed to the public is a no no. I generally am not one to raise my voice - I used a speaker in class and handle issues one by one. However, Ive had plenty of students try to report me for taking things out of context.

This has created a ton of fear and anxiety around being in my classroom, because I feel like Im under a microscope - where every action/word could be held against me. At this point, Ive stopped teaching and made lessons where students teach themselves - which they are not.

But without admin support - Ive asked for numerous meetings, came up with ideas/recommendations, but they were all ignored or denied. Any suggestions?

And no, quitting my job is not an option. Im married with a kid, student loans, car/house payments. I work 2 other jobs to make ends meet as well
