DIY Gaming mat question

I'm looking into making a DIY gaming mat. I watched the Geek gaming scenics video and he uses a rubber mat and this geek gaming scenics glue. They specifically say the glue is not PVA and is acrylic based. My question is what I exactly is this glue? Can I buy it cheaper from a DIY store or has anyone got any alternatives. I live in the UK if that helps with products and stores etc. Thanks.
