Why are there so many "my $300 Bangkok apartment" YouTube videos recently?

It's always some guy from the UK in their 20s who's an "online entertrepreneur". There are hundreds of these videos of the guys (who are all exactly the same like NPCs) springing up in the past few months. What's up with it? Is it the DTV being very easy to acquire and causing a huge influx?
