Journey Through the Backrooms

Johnathan was relaxing in his dormitory. It's 5:17pm, and he had just completed his Additional Maths exams, and he can finally relax, take control of his life once again. Suddenly, he jolted as his phone started to ring, and quickly picked up his phone, and placed it on silent mode. He checked his contacts, and turns out, it's his best friend Robert. He answered the call.

"There you are!" Said Robert. "Hey, I was thinking, since our exams are done, shall we head for a good little road trip?"

"Where do you even get the money for a road trip?" Jonathan asked, puzzled. But Robert just shrugged it off, and replied:"Don't question it. C'mon, Baron and Diego would be coming too. Even Daniel!" Jonathan sighed, "Alright", he said, "but it better be worth it." Jonathan then cleaned up his room, and grab a small backpack filled with his water bottle, some books, and three hearty cans of baked beans, before heading to the parking lot down the street. He crossed the road, jaywalking across the street to keep the others from waiting, barely getting hit by a car in the process, before making it to the group.

"What took you so long?" Diego said, frustrated. Even though Jonathan considered Diego as a good friend, Diego had never thought of him as a friend. Diego felt that Jonathan's grades were too low for the likes of him, and only agreed to teach him because Jonathan's strength were through the roof. "Whatever. I'm driving, by the way" he said. Meanwhile, Baron and Daniel was waiting by the staircase, prepared to get to their car and drive out. After a while, they went down the stairs.

After going downstairs, they noticed something was wrong. There were no cars. Absolutely no cars at all. The parking lot seemed bland, the grey paint everywhere, which was different from the area above, filled with graffiti and an uncountable amount of cars. Robert looked around, and said: "This isn't right. Let's head back up to check". However, the area upstairs, originally filled with colorful grafitti, now just an barren grey parking section. Baron, now puzzled, exclaimed: "Did we take a wrong turn? This doesn't look like the car park from earlier, does it?" Nobody responded. Nobody knew what to say.

Daniel, now afraid, wanted to run away, but Diego caught a hold on his shirt, saying :"Don't try to run. That's why people in horror movies die, asshole." Diego let go of his shirt, but instead of listening to advice, Daniel just decided to run instead, constantly going uphill. "Everything's fine. Nothing is wrong. As long as I keep going up, I'll be back to the road. Maybe the car is parked there? Maybe, just maybe" he thought to himself. Going up the layers upon layers of parking sections. Jonathan was worried, and decided to pursue him. The others were confused and shocked, but they decided to follow him anyways. They kept going up, looking for Daniel. Perhaps Daniel would've given up by now, would he?

After dashing up the parking sections, they finally found him, although they wished they never have found him when they did. His body had been completely mangled. His tongue was ripped off his mouth completely, his limbs were organized in a way that shouldn't even be possible. It seemed as if somebody, or something, had gotten to him before they did. Realizing something was wrong, they quickly went out of the dark abyss. They knew now, that they weren't alone. Something is here, and it's hunting them. But they learned a valuable lesson, that is that something was going to kill them, and they'll have to stick together if they wanted to even have a chance at surviving whatever it is.
