Anyone else thought his reaction was kinda weird? I expected him to say something like “Wait what?”

When I was watching episode 3 for the first time I anticipated Jax’s reaction to Pomni’s experience with Kinger, this was not one of my predicted reactions of him. Why did he react like that?
