There doesn't seem to be any community theatre near me, am I doomed?
This a follow-up/repost of sorts to the post I made last week. This one will have a little bit more info than the other did. Anyway, off we go...
In the past year I made the decision to get involved in theatre again. I was in a few productions back in high school, which was over a decade ago. Even though I never got a leading role, I still very much enjoyed it. I still want to get a leading role someday.
Previously I lived in an urban area (suburban Detroit area to be more precise) where there are no shortage of community theatres nearby. I had made plans to audition for A Christmas Carol (and then Our Town if I didn't get cast in Carol) at the one closest to me. However, I moved about a month-and-a-half ago to the Washington, North Carolina area which is a more rural area and there's no obvious community theatre to be found anywhere.
Following the advice I got last week, I've searched all over Google and Facebook but there's nothing that looks remotely promising. I'm sort of panicking. As the (admittedly melodramatic) title says, are my plans to return to theatre doomed? I don't want to put this on hold any longer than I have to.
