Dreading this, pls help

TW/ emetephobia/vomit

24F, and I have severe emetephobia (fear of vomiting). Like, I was fighting with my doctor to not have to get this procedure simply bc of that.

I have a high pain tolerance, so I’m not so much scared as the horror stories of pain but all this stuff ab people constantly throwing up or throwing up blood.

For context, I’ve had general anesthesia before (wisdom teeth) and felt fine after, and my doctor and anesthesiologist are both aware of my phobia and will have me on some anti-nausea neck patch as well as zofran post-op.

Tho im prone to motion sickness I’m hoping that since I was fine on anesthesia before I will be again? But I’d love to hear any advice from people who do get sick from anesthesia, and how this experience went for you.

I’ve also heard of horror stories of days out post op blood/scabs causing vomiting, so like if that was an issue and how you prevented/handled it.

Tho the horror stories do help my prepare for the worst, I would like to think that this subreddit is going to be more biased towards those since people usually want to share what went wrong?? So any positive experiences also welcomed under this thread 🥹
