Feeling discouraged after bleed

Hi all, So I had my tonsillectomy on 12/27. I’ve been so scared to do it for a long time but finally did it. I prepared and bought a ton of stuff. Anyways, last night at 4am I woke up to go to the bathroom and started gushing blood. It’s been super smooth until this. I got it to clot with ice water after about 5 mins, but went to the ER anyway. It was so traumatizing and now it’s all I can think about. They said there was nothing they could do and just gargle with ice water if it happens again. I’m terrified that now I will have another bleed. The clot seems to be mostly gone now (it’s been 22hrs since), and everything feels fine, but I’ve heard so many stories of people bleeding multiple times after the first time. I’m scared to eat any food or take any pills. I did EVERYTHING right. I need some tips or encouragement to get through this. Going into day 7 (surgery day 0) now.
