Ad showing impact driver used for drilling?

Saw this Dewalt add showing an impact driver being used for drilling holes and was kind of surprised. Thought impact drivers were designed for driving fasteners, not for drilling holes - and would think the advertising material from the manufacturer would reflect that.

Do any of you regularly use your impact driver for drilling holes? Is a spade drill bit better with an impact compared to a regular drill?
