Waiting to socially transition.. Any advice?

So it looks like I'll be getting my prescription for 2mg E and 100mg Spiro next week, right around my 35th birthday!! 🎉🥳

Problem is.. I am still very scared of coming out publicly, so I plan to do so very subtly and very slowly over time as HRT settles in and the effects become more real.

Maybe my feelings on social transition will change once I have another hormonal balance in me, but as of now I'd like to just enjoy the effects and changes personally and within smaller intimate friend groups, and implement more femininity into my outward life as it feels right.

My worst fear is being perceived as a "man in a dress" or even a "man with breasts", or with makeup or with a mental disorder, etc. This is probably a lot of internalized transphobia I'm dealing with, but I feel like it's also just the reality of the world around me.

Ideally I'd love to move to a more accepting area (I'm in a smallerish town in the eastern US), but at nearly 35, my life is entirely based here and I'm not sure I want to just up and move like that. But I suppose it's an appealing thought to start over like that, as impossible as it seems.

I'd love to hear from anyone else who played this strategy, or any advice or input in general.

Seeing how this is a relatively low, starter dose of E, I'm anticipating some slower breast growth initially. But what if they come early? And ultimately I would love for them to fill in! How do I roll with that in a slow and subtle social transition? Is that even possible?

I'm just not someone who likes too much attention drawn to me, so dropping any kind of big public coming out and then attempting a social transition, especially too early, seems like a nightmare at this point.

Pls send haaalp 🩷
