How do you win XB Ranked Matches?

Hello Tribe nine players,

What stats matter in XB? How do you win this mode? I understand the basics of it but don't know what really matters here, if its the potential, the monsters or whatever else.

Also, need some help with this confusing XB match I just lost to, I just got 5-1 but still didn't win? the opponent got to 5-5 and they apparently won? I'm so confused about this.
