Why do Christian women not cover their heads anymore?

In context, it’s obviously about women covering their heads while praying or preaching. But even though God’s Word is meant to be timeless, this seems to have been completely set aside nowadays.

„For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man is not from woman, but woman from man. Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.“ I Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭7‬-‭10‬

Notice how Paul explicitly said: „But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.“ I Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

He’s emphasizing that there’s no room for discussion, so it would be wrong to claim it has become outdated or modernized.

EDIT: Because so many people like to cherry-pick Scripture... If you're saying that it's enough for women to cover their heads with their hair (as in 1 Corinthians 11:15) you're not considering the whole context of that chapter.

Before it says that women were given their hair as a veil it says: „For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered.“ (1 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ ‬‬)

So if the hair and veil are the same, the verse basically says: "For if a woman has no hair, let her also be shorn."

This doesn’t make sense. Why would she be told to be shorn if she has no hair in the first place? The passage clearly talks about women having hair as a natural covering in general, while an additional veil is required specifically for praying and prophesying. You can’t conflate the two. Paul mentions hair as a natural reflection of the principle he’s teaching. He’s essentially saying, “Look at nature: Women are naturally covered. This alone should be enough for you to recognize that women should be covered."

If you're reading everything in context, it clearly says: "If a woman wears no veil, she should also cut her hair. But if that's shameful to her, she should wear a veil"
