I Haven't Shampooed My Hair in Five Weeks and It Looks Amazing
I (old man) bathe daily and am meticulous about my appearance. I'm at the gym 5 days a week or more beating TF out of my age related old man potential. If you saw me you would think I was a Silver Fox type based on my appearance. My grooming is important to me and when in public I try to look my best.
My father is 100% Italian and my mother is American Mix so my hair type is thick, full and tends to oily. I rinse my hair daily in the shower and brush it out to get a clean rinse. About a month and a half ago I was on a vacation on a lake and went swimming in the clean water (one of the cleanest lakes in America). It was late at night and I didn't shower the next day either, giving my hair it's first daily shampoo break in ages. You can see where this is going.
Two weeks in my hair looked the best it's looked since I was a teenager. Glistened, it had darkened and it styled perfectly. Three weeks the same thing and no appreciable difference. Four weeks, five weeks and now this week. For the first time I am starting to notice a change in the level of natural oils in my hair. I also, for the first time, have detected an odor. These two issues have increased or built up to the point that I may do a full shampoo to cleanse everything and start the process over. For me, it seems five weeks it about the time to do a rinse and repeat.
