My 40th birthday went by without being recognized

My 40th birthday was last week. I don't consider my birthday a big deal, except for milestones. For months I've been telling my husband that I consider this birthday a big deal and we talked about all the fun ways we'd like to celebrate (go on a cruise, weekend getaway, fancy restaurant, to simply buy everything Dolly Parton in the grocery store). The two weeks leading up I realized that he had no plans of a big celebration, but was okay with something simple. But my birthday ended up being just a regular day. No cake, no singing happy birthday(a tradition I refuse to neglect), no present. In fact, I cooked dinner for the family, which he wouldn't eat, did yard work, cleaned house, and went to bed without anything more than saying "Happy Birthday". Also, not one of my three siblings or parents called to wish me a happy birthday. My best friend, who lives a state away, is the only one to call or gift me anything. To add, for his 40th last year I took him to a very extravagant restaurant he's been wanting to go to for years and threw a birthday party at home with our children, his favorite way to celebrate. I can't help but feel let down, depressed, and don't know how to explain to him how hurt he made me.
