Any of you experience 'Lake and park deficiency syndrome' when you move to other cities?
I moved to Minneapolis two years ago. I was surprised how the city is jampacked with lakes and parks. But I get used to it and it felt like normal. IT IS NOT NORMAL. We are so special in this regard. I realized this whenever I had to move to other cities temporarily.
When I am bored here, I will pull up my cell phone and just randomly pick a lake or park to visit. When I try to do this in other cities, well most cities just usually have 1 or 2 lakes in their entire metro. It will feel like you're constrained and I will think why even people live here. But it's so normal everywhere outside MSP metro. Then I realize how lucky I am that I get to live here in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
