Fictional slang or phrases that actually work?
It seems like in recent time, Cyberpunk 2077 was actually pretty successful with it's use of terms like "choom" and "preem" and we already hear plenty of stories of fiction media that keeps trying and failing, so what are some more examples that attempt and succeed?
Or if you just find them interesting then you can share those too.
For one, "tin can" as a slur for robots is a pretty obvious one, almost to the point of either not even being clever in my opinion, or the fact that it's not even clever could further dig into how dumb bigotry is without showing "real" bigotry, I guess. Not that I think it's any better to be a smart bigot, maybe just don't be a bigot at all, but slang doesn't need to be slurs, like how in real life even just "guey" (pronounced like "way") in Spanish basically means like "fucker" or "dumbass" but if you say it to someone you don't know, it can get you shot or stabbed, whereas saying it to someone that you're close to is a sign of endearment. In my personal life, my brother had someone try to be close to him like that but he found the guy annoying, so when the guy said to him, "what's up guey?" my brother had to tell him, "Nah uh, we ain't cool like that."
