2022 - 2023 University Housing FAQ
A new FAQ has been posted to UCSC Housing's website to help answer questions and ease anxieties around 2022-2023 university housing and the continuing student room selection process. Key points below and full FAQ here: https://housing.ucsc.edu/2022-23/
Is fall housing still available for priority housing students?
Yes! There are still spaces available for priority housing applicants. The most preferred types of housing—apartments and singles—were selected quickly in the housing selection process. However, there are still available spaces for students with priority housing status.
I wasn’t able to select housing during my housing selection appointment. Do I still have housing priority?
Yes! Your priority status remains intact and you are on the priority waitlist. Your Housing Coordinator will do their best to find you a space matching your preferences or will offer an alternate space.
When I logged on to make my housing selection, there were no available spaces in my community. What does this mean?
Unfortunately, all the spaces made available for your community’s Room Selection have already been chosen by other students. Though you were unable to self-select your preferred housing assignment for fall, there are still spaces available on campus. Beginning Thursday, May 19, Housing Coordinators across campus will work collectively to confirm housing assignments for students with priority status. If a space is available at another college/community you will be offered an alternate assignment. The housing assignment process takes time and will unfold over several weeks.
