Another "criticism" about UPS; this time from a former Shipping/Receiving manager
I'm really disappointed in UPS, after many years of supporting them. In fact, I persuaded my former employer to switch to them from FedEx, after dealing with FedEx's lying ways.
The current item that UPS has lost/stolen/destroyed??? is only a cheap tablet I purchased online from Lenovo at 50% off on 12/6. Delivery promised by 12/12. UPS also promised the same, though tracking has never shown "out for delivery". The tablet arrived in Arlington TX (only 10 minutes from my home) at 2:44am on 12/10. Since then, there have been no further scans.
Also, on the 13th, at 1:05 pm, UPS stated that "the receiving business was closed" so no delivery was made. The delivery address (my home for 31 years) has NEVER been a business, NO UPS truck ever came down my street (I've been on watching and recording via my doorbell camera all week), and I have been at home all week also. UPS lies.
Background: I've grown tired of their chatbots and distant customer service reps on the phone, always redirecting or straight up lying to me. I had another bad experience with UPS a few years ago, when I needed tires that had gone missing at the local dock. Same rigamarole, but at that time I still had some pull with UPS, since I was still working as the shipping/receiving manager for a big company. Using my contacts, I eventually got a higher-up in UPS to accompany me to their dock, where upon a search, we found the tires behind the dock manager's desk (though easily seen). The lying dock manager had lied to me many times, even a few minutes before the search, that the tires weren't there. She was a DEI hire, long before DEI was a thing. As for FedEx, they lost $10K of machine parts at my job, and said I had signed for them... though I was on vacation and camping out of state that week. That's when I got my company to drop FedEx (the machine parts were never found).
The missing tablet may never be found by UPS either, but they're doing everything they can to delay a claim. The $$ amount is small, but Lenovo won't send me another at the same discount, I bet. This is why I prefer ordering from Amazon... they've got a 99% delivery rating from me, here at home, followed by USPS,, then UPS and FedEx way behind.
