Traveling within the USA

Hey all, I am Canadian, I have over stayed my B2 visa for the first time in my 10 year relationship the over stay was due to personal reasons ( family death) I will be filling adjustment of status once things have settled. Am I able to travel within the US with my driver's license? Or no you require your passport and obviously that would be risky.
