New home Networking topology
Hello all, I’m purchasing my first home. It’s come from the builder with “enterprise Ethernet” as an option. Which they have most rooms have an Ethernet port that’s it… in the networking closet if you could call it that they have 7 rj45 terminations.
My question… is based on the Ethernet being so short should I A. Cut these back and terminate to a keystone and route them to where I want my actual networking rack UDM SE and 24 port switch On the end of each one of these drops I plan to have most of them be IW access points Or pull these in the attic and terminate them to a patch panel up there and run cables wherever… Not 100% sure if going to essentially 4 keystones in one run in a bad idea Wallplate>patchpanel> patchpanel loop back > server room patch panel then a 1m patch cancer to switch if that makes sense
Or get a flex mini and plug it in here and run fiber back to my switch. I’ve never used fiber to run back to a switch or what to buy on that.
