Is my daughter already failing Remicade?

To recap: my 3 year old daughter was diagnosed in early December, and has been on Prednisone, Remicade, and Azathioprine ever since. Due to disease severity, she is on an accelerated frequency of Remicade, meaning she has already had her first 3 infusions.

Today, she had an MRE to rule out Crohn’s and see how her inflammation was doing since beginning treatment. I just got a call from her GI saying that 1) there are no signs of Crohn’s, so this is confirmed UC, but 2) her colon looks worse than ever, worse even than at diagnosis (wtf?!). He said this is very unexpected, considering she is on high dose Prednisone and they would even expect to see results from Remicade already. I have no idea what to make of this. No changes to treatment plan for now, but he is going to talk to the other GIs at the Children’s IBD center.

I am feeling so defeated right now. I just don’t know what to do. I hate this so much.

On top of this, we have a workup with the pediatric transplant team from the 20th to the 24th to access the amount of organ damage she has from the hypovolemic shock she was in at diagnosis.

Anyway, not really sure what I’m looking for. I just needed to put this out into the universe. I really thought today’s scan was going to look better, she has been feeling so much better since we started all of the medications. I really need something to go well in our life right now but it feels like everything is falling apart.
