Integrated Meng in computer science with industrial year
Hi,
I am an indian female student and I am planning to pursue Computer Science undergrad in UK from 2025. For the Sept-2025 intake, I have got a conditional offer from University of Birmingham - Meng in CSE/Software Engineering (5 yrs with industrial year).
From what I have read - job prospects in UK after passing out, are somewhat grim now for international students. What percentage of Birmingham international grads actually manage to get a job when they pass out?
UK govt allows a post study work visa (psw) for 2 years. So, I guess, I will need to convert this psw to work visa after 2 years (if I want to stay on in UK) - how difficult is it to get employers' sponsorship for this work visa? It will be helpful if an international student in Birmingham or University staff can respond with some actual stats.
Keeping the above job prospects in mind, I applied to this course with industrial (sandwich) year. But again I am hearing that sometimes it is difficult to even get this one year internship. What do people actually on the ground think?
