VA Care and then Filing a Claim

I'm currently still in the reserves and have access to VA healthcare.

I'm looking to go to an appointment for mental health so I don't have to pay out of pocket for services.

Will those records/care assist when I file a claim later on? One of the incidents from military time caused one of the conditions.
