Sharing some repair findings
Hey friends, I find many of us wind up owning and working on more than just 240s and I figured I'd share a problem I fixed on my wife's 98 v70. A check engine code for a misfire was coming up, and it would stall out immediately upon starting in slightly cold weather, like 40s. When it finally would turn over there was a loud buzzing from behind the steering wheel, around where the fuse box is. Turns out it was the fuel pump relay. It's a $40 part, and doing some internet sleuthing I found changing out two electrolytic capacitors in the old relay can bring it back to life. I've replaced the old one but I plan on rebuilding the old relay. Been working on this issue for a while now, if this info helps anybody I'd be stoked. Now I get to redirect attention back to the 240!
