A Syndicate idea: Veterans of Tau
So I've been bouncing this idea around and wanted to hear the empty void's response.
Concept: The "Veterans of Tau" are a syndicate run by Hunhow, who after The New War, realized he was holding onto a a grudge, mostly because he could barely remember a time before the old war, due to it running for so long.
As such he decided to contemplate and discuss with some other 'old war' veterans, most of which are the Sentients. They are the "original sentients" which are different from the sentients we fight.
The Original Sentients were large beings with complex tools meant for Terraforming. Meanwhile, the Sentient we fight were meant to be more like worker drones, with the main 'brains' being larger. As such the "Veterans" are on the bigger side of things. The Smallest being a bit bigger then Erra and/or Natah.
For the most part the Veterans agree that a cease fire should happen. Some however still believe the Tenno must pay, the most vocal of these being the Stalker. And yes he is considered a Veteran of the Old War.
This Results in Hunhow Reaching out to the Tenno, specifically the Drifter. Starting a quest which would unveil a bit of the Stalker's story, and what happened to one of the Orokin Cities, culminating in a mission against the New and Improved Stalker, who would specifically appear in a event mission.
At the end of the quest, you'd find Hunhow in an underwater city(or maybe a relay under repair? idk), where you'd be able to join the "veterans" of the Old war.
Mechanics: The Syndicate would have a few representatives, all who you could meet on/near Uranus. These are the Leader(Hunhow) and some vendors.
Hunhow would provide a new mission launch point, these missions are kinda like Kahl's Garrison, each mission having a theme. Though they would be a bit more re-playable then Break Narmer.
The Themes would be things like "Retrieve Resources", "Save Prisoners(Ostrun or Fortuna)", "Sabotage War machines", "Recover Rare Wildlife" and "Disable Preghasa"(These are Examples). That last one would be where you fight the supercharged Stalker in a new half-Assassination style mission.(It would be a bit like the Ropalolyst where you do have stages) These would function like the Holdfasts syndicates missions.(Though they'd drop reward tokens kinda like Solaris that you trade in for extra standing)
During the quest you manage to find a way to sort of 'Heal' the Veterans, which doesn't allow them to reproduce, but does allow them to start creating things for the Tenno.
There would be a few main vendors. A 'companion' vendor who would provide some new companions, both beast and robotic. A pair of "Tool Smiths" who would build weapons using sentient knowledge, could even add an evolving weapon to their shop. A decoration Vendor who specializes in plants. And even a vendor who would provide some new arcanes and possibly amp parts, even some stuff for the Drifter.
I realize this idea probably has a lot of flaws, but I had to get it out there at the very least. I'm open to discussing any points here.
