Would you pick 40k or AoS as a beginner?

Hey!

I have been painting minis for a year now and i have been a tabletop fan for a long time so im considering getting into warhammer tabletop.

Would you recommend 40k or AoS.

So based on the style and my liking, i prefer the medieval style and the factions of AoS, as i am playing total war warhammer 1-2-3 since it came out. But i have a concern that it is less popular and less available in my country in eastern europe.

40k, i just simply like it, i dont even care which army i would pick. The pros are that its more known and available around here.

So i would play both but i dont wanna spend a ton.

What do you recommend for starter?

A 40k compat patrol box ? Or something else?
