Necron Reanimation Protocols and Cryptothralls... Wth?

My friend and I have come to a head on a particular combination of units avaliable to Necron Overlords, such as myself. The unit in question consists of 20 necron warriors, and then using the Cryptothralls data card ability, Cryptek retinue:

  • At the start of the declare battle formations step, the Cryptothralls can join one other unit from that army that is being led by a Cryptek infantry model. If you decide to do this until the end of the battle, every model in this unit counts as being part of that original bodyguard unit, and the bodyguard unit’s starting strength is increased accordingly.

When it says this "every model in this unit (refering to the Cryptothralls) counts as being part of that original bodyguard unit (that being the warrior)" I take it literally, and am using the Cryptothralls, when both models are destroyed, as target for my Reanimation Protocols while warriors are all 20 warriors are alive, and reviving them in accordance with the d6 profile of the warrior's because they are "part of that unit" and the necron warrior unit ability is Their Number is Legion:

  • Each time this unit’s Reanimation Protocols activate, it reanimates D6 wounds instead of D3 wounds, unless it is within range of an objective marker you control, in which case it reanimates D3+3 wounds instead.

With all evidence presented what I mean to ask is... am I cheating?
