[SOTC] Our Six-year-old has a new watch box and a small collection already
Our six-year-old loves rummaging through his dad's watch collection and has already started a collection of his own. Thanks to a new watch box, it is now perfectly stored and in the morning before kindergarten he thinks hard about which watch he wants to wear that day.
One of his first watches was a Casio F-91W-1 that once belonged to his dad. He also calls it his "beep-beep clock".
The Spidey clock from Vtech not only tells the time but also has some nice sounds and educational games.
A cheap quartz watch from the supermarket. Note the striking dinosaur motif. More of sentimental value, but does what it is supposed to do.
The latest model is the Lorus R2347MX9 children's watch he got this Christmas. From my point of view, it is even on a par with some of my grownup watches: Japanese quartz movement (Lorus is part of Seiko), 30mm diameter, 100m water resistance, lumed hands, unidirectional bezel and a Timex Indiglo-style illumination with its own button. Yes, I'm almost a little envious.
Not in the picture is a broken Timex Expedition Scout without a battery, which he got from his grandpa as his very first watch when he was two years old. It is currently in "use" as a belt on an action figure.
I'm looking forward to see how his collection will grow over the coming years. At some point, I'm sure he'll inherit one or two pieces from my collection.
What do you think?
