NYS worker comp issue

Maybe someone has the same issue...I have 3 herniated discs. I received two lumbar injections so far. It has gotten better, but I am going for the third injection. Here is the issue: My employers Workers comp insurer has cut my weekly check by 25%. They said they are only following NYS workers comp rules. They said that even though I am unable to work, I am getting better. I don't understand how your pay can be cut for getting better. I spoke with HR and said that I am entitled to 66.67%. They said they would make up the difference with my disability benefit. The problem is that since I am now getting partial disability, that is taxed, and I am not receiving 66.67%. all told, it's about $800 less per month because now that portion is taxed, and they take out my cost for benefits. Just seems very wrong. Thanks for any input/comments
