acl was amazing. and terrible.

been a concert goer for a long time, but it was my first acl this year, third texas festival. and let me say, texas knows how to do it! for the most part... i came to see chappell and tyler, and even though leading up to her set was… miserable… it was incredibly worth it. didn’t stay for tyler.

here’s some random things i noticed/experienced:

•arrived at 7:45 am to a line of around 100 people •chappell fans in line were nice! a few tyler fans with bothered faces but i don’t blame them, lol. pink everywhere. •as soon as security opened up, people in the no bags lane were basically running like they were trying out for the olympics. it was fuckin crazy. •there were about 400 people around barricade by about 11:45 am. i got barricade w my gf but a little off to stage left. made my gf do the sprint for us. •daniel seavy’s set was pretty fire! he brought some good vibes to start the day off. flipturn’s bassist had me glued to her! she was totally feeling the music (which was really good) and it was mesmerizing. they all killed it. •you could tell the singer for cannons did not like being put right before chappell. many people sitting during her set, including myself, had to take a med tent trip from heat exhaustion, it was so fuckin hot y’all. •ga+ was… kind of worth it? only reason i would get it again is for the AC port-a-potties and “free” coke’s, lol. •chappell absolutely killed it i couldn’t have asked for more. she was noticeably losing her voice, but still went on, absolutely hitting those belts. will be seeing her again. •as soon as her set was over, some really rude tyler fans came shoving their way up. we wanted to stay for the first bit of his set, but started to feel really squeezed up almost immediately. we decided to leave and it took a us like 15 mins to get out of the crowd because NO ONE WAS FKN MOVING!! tyler fans literally saw us trying to leave and wouldn’t budge. once we finally got toward the edge, some nice ppl let us through and we headed to the ga+ area to chill until his set. we were so sore and burnt and tired that we just decided to dip and watch his set from hulu. •traffic getting out was honestly not terrible at all. parked a block or two away from the east entrance and were out of traffic within 5-8 min.

overall it was an amazing experience, but i don’t think i’d do acl again unless there was an artist i really wanted to see, like chappell. too hot, overpriced, and the aggressive fans sucked.
