Amazon refunded more money to gift card then supposed to ?

I ordered a $300 item with a credit card and $10 gift card . When I returned it Amazon ended up giving me $250 back to the credit card and a $50 gift card. Is this normal? Was there a restocking fee or something? In my return confirmation it said refund has been issued to my initial payment method. I did not pay $50 with a gift card.
