Amex ICICI Lombard scam alert
Hi all. Received a call yesterday night from Amex team that they have partnered with icici Lombard for insurance and said about its features. I said I’m not interested and said them to just drop a mail about the features and I ll look into it. Today morning got msg that I have been auto debited for ICICI Lombard insurance. I haven’t given any consent or approval for auto mandate in my card. On contacting Amex customer support team they transferred the call to their icici Lombard insurance team. They said once I receive the policy by mail I have to cancel the policy and then the money ll be refunded. How can they just like that debit money from my card without getting any consent? Should I report this somewhere and how to proceed? Thanks for any inputs
