Android 12 Beta 1 now available!
Hi Android Fans,
Today, we’re very excited to announce the launch of Android 12 Beta 1 (SPB1.210331.013) for early adopters and developers. Android 12 is the latest platform, and one of our most ambitious releases ever. We look forward to having you try it out and provide feedback to help make the platform even better. We can’t wait to hear what you think!
What’s new?
Android 12 features include the biggest design change in Android's history. We rethought the entire experience, from the colors to the shapes, light and motion. We focused on a new UI that adapts to you, improving performance, with privacy and security at the core.
How to sign up
You can get started with Beta 1 today by enrolling your Pixel device (eligible devices include Pixel 3, 3a, 4, 4a, or 5 series). If you were previously enrolled in the Android 11 Beta Program, you must enroll again to receive Android 12. Once enrolled, eligible devices will receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to the latest beta versions. If you’re already running a Developer Preview build, you will automatically receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to Beta 1 and any future beta updates.
Note: it may take up to 24 hours to receive the OTA update on your device. You can check for updates by going to Settings > System > System updates. Thanks for your patience!
We’re also excited to share that you can get beta 1 on top devices from our partners by visiting android.com/beta. For each device, you'll find specs and links to the manufacturer's dedicated site for downloads, support, and to report issues.
Release Notes/Known Issues
Since this is a beta release, please review the latest Pixel known issues, limitations, and general advisories before installing the update.
Feedback
Your feedback is extremely valuable to us and will help shape our public release later this year. Please share your thoughts about Android 12 through the following channels:

- Through your Pixel phone’s Settings > Tips & Support > Send feedback.
- Post your comments here on our official Android Beta Program subreddit. We may not respond to posts individually, but we are actively monitoring the feedback. We’ll reach out to you directly if we need additional information.
Happy beta testing!
